Task 2: CLASSROOM LANGUAGE 

 

In this section, I am presenting the different classroom language and expressions that both student and teachers can use in a language lesson.

 

What is classroom language and why is it important?

Classroom language refers to that type of linguistic expressions and words that are used on a regular basis in foreign language lessons. Therefore, it is the kind of language that is used both by teachers and students as a routine, in order to foster greater understanding and use of the foreign language over the use of the mother tongue. Nonetheless, it may not mean that L1 language is forbidden in the classroom, In fact, using both languages fosters learning. However, it is recommended that the target foreign language is more dominant than L1.

 

Considering classroom language in the lessons, can help teachers to make language learning a more authentic and significant experience.
